Got Milk?? Meet Malcolm's Alter Ego Milly

How to turn a male image female?? Not all that difficult; as it turns out. I added lush lips and some long eye lashes and TA! DAH!! Milly makes and appearance!!

GOT MILK

I had the greatest time with my glue pen and Martha Stewart fine glitter with this card!! Check out those lips! Check out that blue eye shadow Milly has goin' on!!

Here is a close up on Milly showing how she is raised on dimensionals and has diamond glaze on her headlights and windows.

Thought I would include a close-up shot of the Prima Flowers I used on this card that have been finished using diamond glaze and small beads. I just love the effect! Hope you do too.

Well, I hope this card made you smile and if you are interested in having a Malcolm/Milly Milk Truck of your very own to play with just send me a quick e-mail!!

HAD TIME TO GET INKY TODAY!!

I had time to make a couple of cards today...I was in a particularly quirky mood today so these cards kind of reflect that!! Since it's already 2AM I am going to keep the chitter chatter down to a minimum tonight and just post the cards. I really hope they inspire you a bit and give you a chuckle.
VEGAS CARD

Now at first blush this card might not hit you with the laughing stick...but think about it a smidge...here is a big, bad Dairy Truck coming back from Vegas blinged out wearing an earring....hmmmm...what happened in Vegas??

Oh Goodie! A convention!! They always give away the best "stuff"....hmmm...looks like Malcolm spent a bit more than he planned....

Looks like Malcolm tied one on, in a huge fashion! Check out that new earring! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas baby!!! Hope you got a little chuckle from this card...I had a riot making it. Honestly, sitting in a room by myself, chuckling...oh yeah...rubber rooms and straight jackets have been considered. Thanks for stopping by! I am going to post another card...made with the same quirky sense of humour!!! LOL!! You know you WANTIT!!! LOL!!

Thanks to all who voted.

SYMPATHY CARD FOR CHILDHOOD FRIEND

RAINY DAY ON THE BEACH SYMPATHY CARD
If I could think of the worse reason to send a card to one of my childhood friends, it would be this. The passing of a parent. The image I chose to use is from my new The Journey set from Gina K. The Adirondack Chairs, empty on a rainy beach seemed entirely appropriate since my friend is on Prince Edward Island and when we lose someone so close, the beaches seem sad even on a sunny day.

I used my prisma markers and coloured the images. I used the Adirondack chair twice, the grass stamp and the pebble path stamps from the set to lay out the scene. The sand is that orange colour because on PEI we have 'red sand'. I used my Diamond Glaze to add water to the chairs and pebbles. I then took my white gel pen and dragged it quickly across the entire image in rapid swipes to make it look like it was raining. The sentiment is computer generated.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope this card gives you an idea or two. Pop back soon for another card featuring one of our Sunshine's Stamps.

MMSC10 FEATURING MALCOLM MILK TRUCK

MMSC 10 - THE MILKY WAY

I made this card today with the current Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 10! I really like this sketch. It wasn't as difficult as some of the MMSC sketches but a fun one, none the less.

I wanted to make a decidedly 'country' looking card using the current sketch. I had these fabric tags lying around and they were just screaming to be used. It just happened that I had coloured this image of Malcolm with gingham on his mud flaps so the tags tied right into my "theme".

These right and left angle shots allow you to see a little more detail. I have used rhinestones for the cab lights and the headlights. The gingham ribbon was just perfect for the card. The Embossed Zig Zag Border Punch by Martha Stewart adds a really cool country look to the card too. I paper pieced Malcolm Milk Truck and then adhered him to a piece of white card stock and cut that out too. That fine line of white really makes Malcolm pop off the card, don't you think??

I kept the inside of this one simple for a couple of reasons...one was that I hadn't used multiple card stocks on this one - just a piece of layering weight paper that had been run through the Cuttlebug. The other reason was much more practical...I was tired and the men working on our basement were making so much noise under my office floor I could no longer concentrate!

That concludes my creativity for the day! Hope you found something to enjoy and maybe discovered a smidgen of inspiration! Thanks for stopping by!!

MALCOLM MILK TRUCK - HERD IT WAS...

Malcolm Milk Truck
Today was the day the "destruction crew" arrived to our basement...or what used to be our basement. They arrived at 10AM and left at 5:30PM - the intervening hours were exhausting! The never ending banging, crashing, stinky air and loud voices of 5 human wrecking balls turned our normally quiet, serene household into an exhausting mix of noises, smells and people!! In the midst of all that, I made two cards....maybe I shouldn't have...but by hook or by crook I am posting them here for you to take a look at.

Sunshine's Stampers have been busy uploading as well and I will post where to find their lovely creations as soon as I find them all myself....I tell you, this flood has thrown my whole schedule outta whack! If in doubt, click on the links to my DT's blogs on my sidebar and hop on over to their blogs to see they have posted recently.

OK - enough is enough. Here is the first card I made this afternoon. I hope you like it!

I decided to put a few images of Malcolm on this card. The image that looks white in the centre is actually silver but hard to photograph. I have used rhinestones for all of the lights and headlights for the trucks and white dew drops in the corners. Here are a couple of angles to get the proper perspective of the card; along with a close up of the trucks to show that they are actually raised at three different levels on the card.

Finally the inside of the card has been finished with the same dp as the outside of the card and the rear end of the first milk truck. The sentiment has been placed on a die cut sent to me by one of my Stamptv Wild Roses!!

That's all for this card. I hope you liked it and it gave you some idea's. Thanks for stopping by and it's my hope you come back to see the next card I did this afternoon!

THIS WEEK ONLY!!! SATURDAY'S RELEASE ON THURSDAY!!!

INTRODUCING MALCOLM MILK TRUCK!!!

AVAILABLE VIA E-MAIL REQUESTS TO:

VALLEYSUNSHINE@HOTMAIL.COM
Well, I am happy to report that we have Internet access on the slightly damp modem that has yet to learn how to swim!! Let this be a warning to all of you out there...it's never to late to send your modems to swimming lessons!! Avoid disaster...lessons save modems lives!!

In case the modem conks out we are releasing this weeks freebie image early. If you love this guy as much as we do, send an e-mail to the addy listed above {ummm...that would the addy in the big green letters} and we will be more than happy to send it to you. Of course, we are asking you to understand if we do not respond right away, it may mean our damp modem has sucked in too much water and gone to that watery ever after...and we will have to wait on the Shaw people to bring us a new one Saturday evening. No matter, if you send us an e-mail we will make sure you get a response no later than Sunday!! Promise!!! {Pinkie swear!}

Flood Report:

Our basement is now, for the most part, empty. They are arriving in the morning between 8:30-9:00AM to demo the basement. Apparently they will have the rooms gutted and the floors all ripped out tomorrow. Holy smokers!! Now we figure out how we are going to have the room put back together!! We were planning on renovating the basement next year so this is an opportunity to do it early. This is one of those glass is half full scenario's . Kind of a lottery of sorts...unfortunately...its kind of a sucky way to go about getting the basement upgraded. Those of you that know me well, know that I wait all year for summer because my boy's are here. This is not exactly the way I had planned our summer holidays to go, but they {the boyo's} are pretty great and going with it!!

Thanks to everyone for their terrific well wishes and e-mails. It is a dire day that I cannot find the humour in it. :) It's kinda what I do!! Thanks for stopping by and we look forward to replying to your e-mail requests for Malcolm!!

THE GREAT FLOOD OF'09 - WHAT DIDN'T HEAR ABOUT IT??

Hi All!!

As the title indicates we suffered a flood in our basement last night of epic proportions!! OK...maybe not epic...but we had about 4" of water ALL OVER our basement! Yup...we had a current in our BASEMENT!! It was coming fast and furious through our floor drain due to the amazing storm Winnipeg suffered last night! Sadly, the water overflow system in our neighbourhood decided to take a little detour into our basement!! NICE!

Needless to say we have been very busy getting rid of water and trying to rescue our possessions. Luckily, our insurance is coming to the rescue. If anyone has the option of getting coverage through the COOPERATOR'S in your area....do so!! They ROCK!!

Somehow, 4" of water turned into $40K worth of damage!! Yup....you read that right!! $40K!! They are going to have to rip our entire basement out! We have lost the use of it for 3 months!!

Our Internet connection is in the family room, which is in the basement so I am over at my sister-in-laws using her connection AND 'puter to write this post. We will be back up at home by Saturday night..our modem took a swim...hmmmmm...apparently modems don't know how to swim!! Who knew!! Well....we do now!!

To make a long story short...ok...that's ships sailed already!!! This weeks release may be late this week....but maybe not....rest assured if I don't get the new release up on Saturday it will be available on Sunday! PROMISE!! Thanks for stopping by!! I will be back soon...a little drier with a new Internet connection!

LENNY GETS A DWL!!!

To receive any of Sunshine's Stamps images, E-mail me at:

valleysunshine@hotmail.com

Last night or to be more honest in the wee hours of the morning, I decided to merge two of my digital images into one card. It's quite easy to do, really. In this card Lenny is getting a ticket from Patrick!! Lenny has committed the horrible violation of a DWL - DRIVING WHILE LOADED!! ***snort*** I crack me up!! Hmmmm...maybe I should go take a nap! LOL!!

Here are a couple of different angles of the card as always. I have used Diamond Glaze on the headlights, their "eyes" and the officers glasses. It's difficult to see in the photograph but I can tell you it's really awesome in person.

I also made another card last night...errr...this morning. I will upload it later today or tomorrow. I warn you, hubby feels the new card threatens poor Patrick Police Car's masculinity!! LOL!! Piqued your interest?? LOL!! Thanks for stopping by I hope I have given you some inspiration to get inky today! Have fun!

LENNY LOADER LIKES A GOOD PARTY

PARTY ON LENNY!!

I decided to see how creative I could get, digitally, with our little Lenny Loader. I opened "Paint" on my computer and "painted" Lenny. Then I thunk and thunk {I do that occasionally ya know!} and decided I would prepare for an imaginary little boys birthday party. Lets see what I came up with!!

First there is the party poster behind it all that will go on the front door to greet all of the guests. Next is the party hat with Lenny front and centre. Lets not forget the drinking cup with Lenny on either side with the "Oh so necessary spot to write the child's name," front and centre. There is nothing worse than going through tons of paper cups because no one can remember which is theirs. {OK - there are things worse but it used to drive me INSANE} Then we have the Lenny Loader Coasters for the little tykes to put their drinking cups on. Now the fun stuff: the blower tags and the little paper baskets with yummy candy in them and finally the box of chocolates with the Lenny Loader tags front and centre. I didn't do treat bags for this party, I chose the little baskets because they hold a small amount of goodies but enough to get that lovely sugar high!! LOL!!

Now, lets look at the items up close:

This little box has a box of malted milk balls inside. I used crayon resist and wrote different variations of Yummy on the box. I then washed the paper in Caribbean Blue SU! ink. This made the writing pop out in white and created a very simple paper to wrap around a box of chocolates. Think of what your kids could come up with for wrapping paper using this simple technique!

OK, I admit, coasters aren't your usual child party fair. They are at mine!! Cool Aide is a killer to all surfaces!! These coasters are cute, cost pennies to create and there is no sense of loss felt when they are stained with cherry Cool Aide and head to the recycle bin.

My guys are long past the birthday party phase. However, being the mom of "my three son's" has taught me some valuable lessons. Such as how is it you can invite 6 children to a party and go through 3 sleeves of drinking cups?? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?? I will tell you. The little darlin's set their glass somewhere and can't remember which one is theirs, so they come and get a new one REPEATEDLY!!! all party long. Well, by the time my third son came along I was one savvy mommy. Everyone got a cup with their name on it!! I don't want to say I am frugal...but I really don't like spending money on frivolity like paper cups!

Isn't this little basket just he cutest? Lenny Loader is loud and proud on the front of this little basket. The basket is in lieu of the TREAT BAG. I was never a big fan of the Dollar -BAGAPALOOZA. I would rather give the children a few quality candy than a bunch of stuff that you know is going to end up in the garbage when their mother's go through it and declare it Junk!!

Finally we have the essential party hat. Lenny has been put front and centre and I added the curly ribbons to the top. The party is ready to begin. I was thinking of making a Lenny Stencil and put him on a cake but I thought you all might call the "she's gone crazy" police on me!! LOL!! I hope all of this gives you some good idea's and you consider making your child's next party super special by creating the coordinating decor all on your own!! Thanks for stopping by!
