LENNY LOADER - SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL

SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL

Check out what I did with Lenny!! I made him into a shaker card!! How cute is he? I cut out the area inside his loader and added acetate to the inside. I then used my foam mounting adhesive dimensionals in two layers {to allow room for the beads to shake of course} and added the yellow cs background. Lenny is actually mounted on one of Gina K's freebie digi papers. Isn't it just perfect? The whole thing was then mounted on another piece of yellow cs on the Bazzill Smoothie cs base. I used my Diamond Glaze on Lenny's "eyes"...ok, ok, his windows!! Then I used it on the corner of the card so I could adhere more beads to make it look like Lenny is scooping up from a pile of beads.

I had decided when I made the decision to make a shaker card; that I would use this sentiment on the card. Then I decided that I would make it a shaker too! So off to work I went and made another shaker for this card. I think it just makes it perfect! What do you think?? I have given you a couple of different views of the card to give you all different perspectives.

MMSC8 -LENNY LOADER - FULL OF LOADS OF FUN!!

INTRODUCING LENNY LOADER

Well, it's finally Saturday and we are releasing Lenny Loader to the public! He has been requested several times already!! But now he is available to all of you via a quick e-mail request via

valleysunshine@hotmail.com

We will be more than happy to send you Lenny Loader and/or Angus Argus via your e-mail request. Lenny Loader is just as versatile as Angus Argus. Who knows what you all will come up with to put in his loader bucket!!?? In my first post with Lenny, I have put candy in his bucket and it runneth over!! LOL!! He also has his teeth clamped down tight on the stick of a lollipop!! Without further adieu here is my first card made with Lenny Loader! There will be many more to come!!

The candy have been embossed with clear embossing powder and paper pieced. The lollipop was added by cutting a small hole with a needle to poke the lollipop stick through. The sketch for this card is from the current Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge The sketches over at MMSC are always a challenge but oh so fun to do. If you haven't done their challenges pop on over and take part. Its a great time with a great bunch of gals!!

Sorry, I digress, back to Lenny!! Isn't he a cutie? I can't wait to see the first card with Lenny's Loader full of can's of pop or beer!! Here are different angle images of the card to provide you with a better perspective as to what has been popped up for dimensional effect.

ANGUS ARGUS - VERSATILITY

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted before now. My youngest had a mystery illness severe enough to drag us out of bed at midnight and spend the rest of the night in the emergency room of our local hospital!! Arrived at the hospital 12:03AM July 1st - we left the hospital 2:30PM July 1st!!! Poor baby he was a human pin cushion to some really well - meaning nurses and doctors. For a boy who has never been seriously sick before it was quite an eye opener!! Thank goodness he is fine now. I will be giving him the "hairy eyeball" all summer now, watching for a re -occurrence...but he is fine...his mama...traumatized!! :(

On to the latest Angus Argus cards and projects. I decided that it was important to show you all how very versatile it is to deal with digital images. They can be manipulated and played with like rubber stamped images cannot. For instance I can make multiple images on one card...that aren't the same size!! Once we launch some of our other images you will see how they can be used together on a card in a way that makes sense and sets a scene!!

The first two images are the covers of my boys Summer Photo Albums.

To keep it really easy for the boys, since they are going to be making the pages for their albums, the albums size is simply half of a sheet of 8.5"x11" paper. The next images are of cards that I have made with Angus. I have coloured him in different ways that you may not have considered when you looked at him, initially.

How cute are these cards!!??!! Both of the Angus's in these cards have been printed on digital paper I created for them!! The Halloween card has Angus paper pieced on the black background with a full moon riding high!! I initially planned on having the sentiment "Economy VS First Class...Witch would you choose?" but hubby didn't like that one...so I chose the one on the card. As you can see the sentiment has been done by hand..not my preferred method as I have to absolute worst handwriting ever! But...I haven't found a printer that will print white ink yet!! Ah well!! The other card has a Canuk Angus sporting his maple leaves proudly!! The card has been stitched to add some dimension to a very simple card and the bling was added to...well...to bling it up!! LOL!! This one if going off to our buddy serving with NATO!! Happy Canada Day, eh!!

The next cards are examples of different ways to colour Angus/Angie!! One card show us Angie in Love!! Hey!! It could happen!! She has been coloured in pinks and purples and decorated with my white gel pen with little white hearts. The skies are shining with heart shaped stars as well.

The final card is almost entirely computer generated and only took 10 minutes to make from beginning to end!! Ever get caught with little time and a celebration is happening for whatever reason and you have no card?? Digital images can be manipulated so easily! In this card, Angus was opened in "Paint" on my computer and I used the fill feature {PAINT CAN} to paint him different colours. The sky was even done on the computer. The sentiments are both computer generated and from a stamp. Of course we added a little bling for interest. Hope you like them and they inspire you to play with Angus and find different ways to make him shine!!

INTRODUCING ANGUS`S CREATOR - MY HUBBY!!

Let me introduce you all to my hubby, Rob!!! He is an avid aviation and train artist. That is one of his paintings behind him!! He has a blog of his own talking about the Argus!! Yup gals! The Argus is an actual airplane!! That is one of them behind him in the painting!! His blog is called CANADAIR ARGUS and he also has a website AIRFORCEART.

As you can imagine...or maybe not...it took a little persuasion to get him on board with the whole digital stamp idea. These cartoon images are a smidgen outside of his genre!! But boy!! does he do a good job or what!!

We have been looking for something to do together as a couple and this venture is marrying both of our skills quite nicely!! It is our hope that future images generate as much interest as Angus Argus has. Thanks for stopping by to meet Rob - my wonderful hubby!!

SUNSHINE'S STAMP CREATIONS

Hi all!! I am so excited!! I am entering the arena of Digital Stamp Design. My wonderful hubby has helped me design a whimsical line of digi-stamps that will be available for a limited time FREE here on my blog! After that, they will be available for a nominal fee. Here is a sneak peak of the first Digital Stamp from Sunshine's Stamps!! This series of images is from the "High Flyers" series and the first one is called Angus Argus!!

STVSC18 - WISH YOU WERE HERE

WISH YOU WERE HERE

This weeks Stamp TV Sketch Challenge is a terrific sketch! I will be using this one over and over. I used Gina K images Tree Silhouettes for this one. I shaded using my Momento ink pads. I also used my Cropodile to adhere the eyelets to the card. I cut out my sentiment because I managed to stamp it crooked!!! The cs is all scraps. I am trying to use them up...can anyone explain why the scrap bins exponentially to the use of paper?? Why does the scrap pile get bigger and never seem to go down??

The inside is complete. I used a flower from TAC and a background swirlie stamp also from TAC to finish the inside left of the card and a sentiment from Paper Makeup for the inside. I also used some to eyelets on the inside.

I have decided this one is heading to Nova Scotia and my bestest buddy Bri and his wife Cathy. Bri and I have been since he was chubby and I was skinny!! Now he's the skinny one and me...not so skinny anymore!! LOL~!! Thanks for stopping by everyone!!!

STVPF18 - FOLLOW YOUR STAR!!

ORANGE & LIME SHERBET WITH VANILLA ICE CREAM

This week Lee over on Stamp TV set us a Friday Potluck Challenge like no other! This is never a surprise since Lee always thinks outside the box to challenge us and make us more creative. This week Lee's challenge was to design a card with our favourite ice cream colours. Well!! I have three favourites and if I can get 'em all in the same bowl....can you say HEAVEN!!! LOL!! You got it! Lime & Orange Sherbet with Vanilla Ice Cream are my all time favourites. Orange Sherbet with Vanilla Ice Cream is like having a bowl of Creamsicle!!! OMGosh!! I'm starting to drool!!!

Let me tell you a bit about the card. The images are from one of the new Gina K stamp sets called Sporty Accessories

The cheer leader outfit, pom poms and megaphone have all been coloured in my ice cream flavour colours. I added some glitter to the megaphone's lettering with my jellyroll pen. The glitter was added to spice it up a smidgen as only glitter can do!! I have added dimension with foam dimensionals to add that 2-d effect we all love. Here is a picture of it at an extreme left angle so you can see where the dimensionals have been added.

Finally, the inside was finished with the same dp used on the outside. {In fact I used every scrap of the 6X6 sheets of dp used for this card!! Gotto love that!! No waste at all and no scraps to add to my monumental scrap pile!! } The sentiment inside comes from Paper Makeup Stamps. The sentiment and star are from their Star Struck Set.

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE 36

Today I decided to do the current High Hopes Challenge 36. This weeks challenge is to use up some scraps. I took this challenge quite literally and I used absolutely nothing but scraps to make the entire card!! Lessee lets start with SHE BAAAA SHEEP from High Hopes!! How cute is she?!! The next High Hopes image is called the SINGLE PRESENT . The image of the Birthday Hats and the sentiment are from an unknown source. Sadly, when I first began stamping I didn`t realize the significance of knowing who made what and the end result was that the packaging would have been tossed in the recycle bin long before I realized I really did need that information!!! Live and learn!!You will also notice that I used some Diamond Glaze on the sheep's eyes to give her a funny look.

Here are a couple of shots from the right and the left. Some other things of note are that the images had all been coloured quite some time ago. I was fortunate enough that they were all coloured in a similar manner. The 4, E, W, E are stickers that were remaining on a sheet of alphabet and number stickers. We all have them...we want to throw them out but there are just too many left on the darn thing to throw them away in good conscience!! Finally, I used some micro fine glitter on the hat, pom pom and sentiment. Oh! I should also mention this is the final bit of this particular ribbon I had left.

Lastly, here is the inside. It should be noted that I have used other scraps of Cuttlebug papers to finish the inside. I also used my mini flower punch on tiny pieces of scrap to make my flowers and branches. The birthday cake was also in my coloured and not used pile so I put it inside the card as well. MMSC6 PARTNER IN CRIME

PARTNER IN CRIME

I received a stationary set from my Nanny when I was 9 years old for Christmas. This wasn`t unusual as my Nanny always sent me stationary (I suspect at my mother`s request) so that I would have something to write my thank you notes to everyone who sent me a gift at Christmas. The stationary and envelopes are long since gone. The little note pad that came along with it...still hanging around in my desk. I came acrossed it the other day when looking for something else and decided it was time to do something with it! Afterall...I will be 45 in August! Man!! Did I just write that!!

My challenge for the day was to do the ever challenging Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge of the week. It was a tough one!! I took the cover off my little note pad and cut it down to size and chose some scraps of paper I had in my ever growing scrap bin. I had some really cute tickets but they were too big so I had to create my own. Hope it doesn`t look to cheesy. I also used my brand new Cuttlebug embossing folder Tiny Bubbles. I am really pleased with the end result of this card. It`s nice to see this adorable image out and about and no longer buried inside my desk. It`s just too cute to keep to myself any longer.

For the inside I used a piece of cs that I ran through the CB with the same Tiny Bubbles embossing folder and a sheet of paper from the note pad!! I used a Whipper Snapper Designs sentiment called Love Makes the Ride. I also cut out the corner image and put it on the top inside of the card. Here are a couple of close up shots.

I have another cut out of the corner image drying upstairs in my office with Diamond Glaze and a piece of magnetic backing. I will be putting inside the card so whomever receives this card can use the image as a fridge magnet. Hope you liked todays card! Thanks for stopping by!

MORE SYMPATHY STVSC17

MEMORIES

This one is going to one of our guy friends so not only did I have the challenge of making a sympathy card...but a masculine sympathy card! Here is what I came up with. The image is one of Gina K`s newest releases called SPECIAL FATHERS isn`t it just lovely! There are Stickles in the lower right to balance out the card and of course my mini paper punch flowers with the Martha Stewart Branch Punch. I have added dimensionals to make the flowers pop out some. The dp is from the Basic Grey Bittersweet paper pad.

Finally here is the inside view of the card.

The sentiment inside the front cover is from Stampin Up! and the main verse is computer generated and again from an unknown author. It is another of my favourite sympathy card verses. As always I feel that the sentiment makes the card have its meaning so a lot of thought goes into what I think is appropriate and will speak to the recipient. Thanks for stopping by. SYMPATHY CARDS

Sadly we lost a close friend of the family this week. These are the cards that are heading off to the family. I have had this image coloured and waiting for the perfect card since January. This one is actually coloured with pencil crayons. The image is one that my sister - in - law, Chrissy, was nice enough to loan me. I believe its from SU! and is FROM THE GARDEN. I used no dp on this one since I felt the image should take centre stage. The papers have been cuttlebug embossed with swiss dot - another loan from my awesome sister-in - law!! and the edges have been punched with my Martha Stewart edge punch. There are some Diamond Glaze dew drops on the lily. A little known fact is that the lily is so popular as a funeral flower because the lily cries. The lily bloom will show drops of nectar on it's petals if its inside too long. It releases it's scent to attract bee's. {I was once a floral designer and this is the story we were told about the lily. Of course my mother told me as soon as I became a floral designer that she would appreciate it if I never gave her lily's because they were a "funeral flower that cried"...hmmmmm Must be something to that story~!!}

The inside of this card is just as pretty as the outside. The sentiment is computer generated and by an unknown author. This verse is one of my favourites to use in sympathy cards. The image again is from SU! and was loaned to me from...you guessed it...CHRISSY!!!

I hope you find some inspiration from this one. I find Sympathy cards just as difficult as masculine cards. I am happy with the way this one turned out and I think the recipient will be pleased. Thanks for stopping by! I will post another sympathy card in just a minute.

3 NEW PROJECTS

As promised I have some new cards to upload today. I made 3 projects last night. I am referring to them as projects because not all of them are cards! lol! Here is the first one. It was supposed to be for STV's Sketch Challenge this week but I was too late! Oh well....it's still a cute card. I am calling it:

LAZY DAYS OF SUMMER

Here is a peak of the inside sentiment. Can't you just imagine the wind in your hair and the salt air tickling your nose when you look at the little sail boat??!!

The next card is for the current STV Colour Challenge. Unfortunately, my memory failed me last night and the blue I was thinking I was matching to is not so close after all. I guess I am going to have to start taking my laptop up to my card room when the colour challenges are an image like this one was. I am pretty darn pleased with the card though. Let's see what you all think. This one I call:

WISDOM WALK

For this one I have used a Gina K Designs flower stamp from A YEAR IN FLOWERS. I decided to use some scraps I had left over from other cards for this one. Once I decided on the cs it all just came together. This is a mish mash of different sketches I have used and seen. I don't believe I have used this particular set up before. I am particularly proud of the way the buttons look on the little ribbon hinges. There are some dew drops of Diamond Glaze on the flower as well, but they are rather difficult to see. Here is a shot of the card from a different angle.

Finally, here is a shot of the inside of the card. As always I have finished the inside. The sentiment for this card is not from Gina K, however. It is a sentiment I recently purchased from Whipper Snapper Designs. It is called WISDOM WALK and it really speaks to me. I hope it resonates in your mind as well. As you can see I used the same dp on the inside as out and I have added a bow. I just love the little cluster of buttons on this one. Hope you all like it as much as I do.

The final project is a POST-IT NOTE HOLDER. I call it:

YUMMY ICE CREAM

Isn't this just so cute?! This is the first post - it note holder I have ever made but I am thinking it will not be my last. I am already thinking about making a slew of these for my girlfriends for Christmas!! I am also going to figure out a way to add a pen/pencil holder to them as well. I will post them once I have figured out what I am going to do. Now let me tell you a little bit about this project. It was easy peasy to do, so if you are thinking it's difficult; it's not. I used two layers of cs for this one to keep it good and rigid. The other thing I did is to add a tuck in flap for the bottom flap to slide into in order to keep the holder shut when not in use. The samples I have seen use a flap or a magnet to hold them shut. I decided when I was gluing the inside layer to the outside to leave an inch without glue to slide the bottom flap into. It works like a charm. The image on the holder is a Gina K image from Gina K's new FREE WITH THREE SET. Doesn't the ice cream look just so yummy!! I added Diamond Glaze to the bowl and spoon to give them a little more oomph. I also used the Diamond Glaze as an adhesive to hold the image in place and unfortunately that is why there is a little glaze at the top of the ice cream. I finished the front with a pretty lavender bow. Now, here is a picture of the inside showing off the POST IT NOTE pad I chose to use for this project. Here is HAPPY BUNNY!! He makes me laugh out loud in an empty room!!! LOL!! Enjoy!
